Frequently Asked Questions
We've got you covered!
How much would a typical system cost and generate?
A standard domestic PV system starts from £4,000 with costs increasing for larger arrays or added features such as battery storage.
A typical UK home uses around 5,000 kWh per year, which can usually be met with around 10 panels, subject to orientation and roof space.
Every roof is different, so a bespoke design is always the most accurate way to confirm performance and cost.
How do I know if my house is suitable?
Every property is unique. Roof angle, shading, structure, and electrical layout all affect performance.
Our approach is to complete a full performance assessment to confirm suitability and expected returns, rather than a one-size-fits-all.
Do my solar panels still generate in the winter?
Yes. Our monocrystalline, bi-facial panels perform well in low-light conditions.
Generation is naturally lower in the winter months, but panels will still produce energy and reduce your electricity bills.
How do I know how much my solar panels are generating?
Most systems we install, such as Tesla, Fronius, SolarEdge and GivEnergy, all include easy-to-use monitoring apps.
You can track live generation, battery levels and savings directly from your phone as well as push notifications for faults.
Do I need planning permission?
In most cases, solar panels fall under permitted development rights for pitched roofs. Planning permission is required for commercial buildings, flat roofs, conservation areas and specific buildings eg. listed buildings. Applications are rarely refused and we can handle the entire process for you if needed.
